The arc

Homeschooling & tech

His son is homeschooled, and the curriculum has a clear bias toward the things that actually hold a 12-year-old's attention. He's learning Roblox development - building the same kind of worlds his dad does for a living.

Lately the obsession is sleep tracking. He picked up an Oura ring off Vinted and has been deep in his own nightly data ever since: readiness scores, REM, the lot.

  • Homeschooled, learning at his own pace
  • Building games in Roblox Studio
  • Tracking his sleep with a secondhand Oura ring

Home base

The Stoke property

A lovely semi-detached house - driveway, carport, room to breathe. It's leased through Taft Lettings, and the landlord makes all the difference.

Joe Taft is absolute class.

Class enough to green-light an EV charger install on the property - the kind of yes that turns a rental into a home.

The Onward Homes battle

Before Stoke, there was a cowboy landlord: Onward Homes. Steven took them to court - and won.

Judgment against Onward Homes£265kFine awarded. Collected so far: £0. Worth it: entirely.

He hasn't seen a penny of it yet, and frankly that's not the point. The judgment stands. These days he's ghosting them with great success - no calls returned, no closure offered, none owed.
